The French firm, established in 1978 by former gymnasts and trainers Gérard Barbafieri and Henri Miceli, designs, manufactures and distributes gymnastics apparatus and equipment across all forms of competition.

For Glasgow 2014 it will supply, install and maintain four full sets of gymnastic apparatus and equipment during competition at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) Precinct as well as in warm-up and training venues.

Gymnova will also provide technical staff to support transitions, gymnast training and competition periods.

"Now that we're in the planning stages for sport competition at the Games, I'm delighted that we'll have quality gymnastics equipment available at Glasgow 2014, giving the best gymnasts of the Commonwealth an opportunity to display their skills," said Ty Speer, the Glasgow 2014 deputy chief executive.

"We're delighted to welcome Gymnova into our growing sponsor family and we look forward to working with them to ensure Glasgow 2014 is a memorable experience for both athletes and spectators alike."

Female athletes will also compete in four rhythmic events; hoops, ball, clubs and ribbon.

As well as being the official equipment supplier for London 2012 and Glasgow 2014, Gymnova has performed a similar role at the 2006 and 2009 International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Aarhus and London respectively.

It will be back in Glasgow again as the city hosts the 2015 World Championships.

"The incredible success of our gymnasts at the London 2012 Olympic Games has planted the sport of gymnastics firmly in the minds of the British public and Gymnova is delighted to be appointed as the official gymnastics equipment provider to yet another major international event," said Phillip Wattleworth, Gymnova UK managing director.
