Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro are back on top of the FEI dressage world rankingsSeptember 10 - Briton Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro, upon whom she won two Olympic gold medals last summer, have returned to the top of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) world dressage rankings following their historic victory at last month's European Championships.

The 28-year-old rider, who secured her first individual continental dressage title by winning golds in the Grand Prix Special and freestyle, as well as a team bronze, in Herning, reclaimed the number one spot with 2,915 points.

"Delighted to be back on top of the @myfei_home Dressage rankings - all thanks to my wonder horse Valegro and @HesterDressage!" she wrote on her official Twitter account.

Dujardin now holds a 67-point lead over World Cup dressage winners, European team champions and double silver medallists Helen Langehanenberg of Germany and stallion Damon Hill, who remain in second place in the rankings.

Last month's world number one Adelinde Cornelissen of the Netherlands and Jerich Parzival, who took individual Grand Prix Special and freestyle bronze medals as well as team silver in Denmark, have dropped to third place with 2,818 points.

Dutch rider Edward Gal and Glock's Undercover; Germany's Kristina Sprehe and Desperados FRH; Swede Tinne Wilhelmsson-Silfvén and Don Auriello; and German Isabell Werth and Don Johnson FRH have held onto their fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh positions, respectively, from last month's world dressage rankings.

Denmark's Anna Kasprzak and Donnperignon jump up to eighth place after occupying the tenth position last month, knocking Swede Patrick Kittel and Watermill Scandic, and Italian Valentina Truppa and Fixdesign Eremo del Castegno to ninth and tenth respectively.

The biggest movers in this latest world ranking are Dujardin's fellow European bronze medal winning teammates Carl Hester and Uthopia, who jumped from 91st to 31st place following their good performances in Herning, and Grand Prix Freestyle victory and second place finish in the Grand Prix on home soil at CDIO3* Hickstead.
