Kelly-Ann BaptisteAugust 10 - Kelly-Ann Baptiste, who was to have raced here at the World Athletics Championships over 100, 200 and the 4x100 metres for Trinidad and Tobago, has left Moscow after reportedly failing a doping test.

The 26-year-old bronze medallist from the 2011 Daegu edition is part of the same Florida-based training group as the former world 100 and 200m champion Tyson Gay, who last month became one of the highest-profile athletes to fail a doping test.

Baptiste is ranked third in this year's listings with 10.83sec, behind Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce of Jamaica and Nigeria's Blessing Okagbare.

"She has voluntarily withdrawn from competition and is heading back to her base," Trinidad and Tobago team manager Dexter Voisin said.
