July 23 - Kukri, the official kit supplier to Commonwealth Games England, has announced that it will be supporting some of the country's athletes as they prepare for Glasgow 2014.
The specific individuals involved are yet to be announced, although there will be up to 20 athletes across a broad spectrum of the 17 sports on show in Glasgow.
Each athlete will be offered financial and PR support and kit sponsorship, and will share their experiences through social media and video diaries.
Kukri Founder and Group Managing Director Phil Morris said: "It's now only a year to go until the Commonwealth Games and our journey with the English athletes starts now.
"Since setting up in 1999 Kukri has already been on a great journey to get to where we are now, and it is the same for the English athletes hoping to take part in the Commonwealth Games.
"We want to engage with the nation and take them on a journey with the athletes from the gym to the podium and get a real insight into what it takes to become a Commonwealth Games England athlete including the highs and the lows along the way."
Morris added: "We're keen to give English athletes a chance to show just how much training and preparation is involved to not only reach the podium but in getting to Glasgow in 12 months' time.
"At Kukri we want to offer them support in their journey to the Games and beyond."
Kukri was announced as the official kit supplier to Commonwealth Games England in April this year and will supply all England delegation and competition wear for the Commonwealth Games.
Kukri will also produce an exclusive range of replica team products for England fans.
