Official stamps Fencing World Championships Budapest 2013 2July 6 - With exactly one month to go until the International Fencing Federation (FIE) World Championships in Budapest, a special stamp has been released to mark the occasion, with just 200,025 copies released.

The Hungarian Post have issued the special stamp for the World Championships, designed by Agnes Berta, which depicts two fencers during a bout, and also features the FIE centenary logo and detailed portrayals of a mask and a sabre.

More than 800 athletes are expected to descend upon the Hungarian capital next month in search of world glory, including home favourite and Olympic sabre champion Áron Szilágyi, men's Épée Olympic champion Rubén Dario Limardo Gascón of Venezuela and four-time world champion and reigning double Olympic champion Elisa Di Francisca of Italy.

The FIE will is celebrating its centenary at this year's World Championships and there will be plenty of festivities in place at the tournament to mark the occasion, including the FIE 100 Hall of Fame and an exhibition depicting the history of the world fencing governing body and the sport itself, which will see valuable artefacts from the rich heritage of fencing become available to the public.

The 2013 World Championships are due to take place from August 5 until 12, kicking off with the Opening Ceremony on August 4 before the action gets underway the following day with the qualifiers.
