172833388July 5 - Britain's Jordanne Whiley looks to have found the perfect doubles partner in Japanese player Yui Kamiji as the pair reached the final at Wimbledon with a win over Lucy Shuker and Marjolein Buis in the semi-final, following their win at their French Open in their second tournament together.

Whiley had partnered compatriot Shuker to the final last year, but she and team-mate Kamiji showed no mercy, turning on the style in a 6-1, 6-2 victory to secure their place in the final.

"I'm absolutely delighted to reach the final here at Wimbledon again and I can't wait to get back on the grass courts on Sunday (July 7) for the final," said doubles world number seven Whiley.

"Yui and I haven't played much together but we remain undefeated and we're forming a really strong partnership.

"It was certainly strange having Lucy on the other side of the court but I had to put that out of my mind and just treat it like any other match."

Shuker said: "I'm obviously disappointed to have lost but it's still great to have a Brit in the final and it says a lot about the strength of GB wheelchair tennis, especially with Gordon Reid in action tomorrow too,"

"I felt like I didn't play that badly but Jordy and Yui played well tactically and probably have a bit more speed on the grass than we did.

"Hopefully we can have a few British wins on Sunday and end the tournament on a high ahead of the British Open Super Series in Nottingham the week after next."

The pair will now face a huge challenge in the final where they will meet the deadly Dutch duo of Aniek van Koot and Jiske Griffioen, who are top seeds for the tournament.

Van Koot and Griffoen booked their place in the final with a victory over their compatriot Sharon Walraven and German Sabine Ellerbrock, winning comfortably with a score of 6-3, 6-2.
