131838175 11nJuly 4 - Paralympic champion swimmer Mary Fisher was in fine form once again at the New South Wales Metropolitan Swim Championships, notching up three world records and four gold medals in the stand-out performance of a solid showing from the New Zealand team.

The 20-year-old Fisher took the gold and the world record in the S11 50m backstroke, 50 metres freestyle and 50m butterfly events, also taking a gold medal and a personal best in the 50m breaststroke as well as a personal best in the 100m breaststroke.

Team-mate Daniel Sharp was another athlete in fine form, notching up a world record of his own and a gold medal in the S13 50m breaststroke, along with a further two gold medals in the 50m freestyle and 50m butterfly, and a personal best in the 100m breaststroke.

Jesse Reynolds, 16, showed his potential by taking three personal bests, and there were also personal bests for Nikita Howarth, Cameron Leslie and Daniel Holt in a successful meet for the New Zealand squad, who will now embark on a ten-day training camp on the Sunshine Coast in preparation for next month's World Championships in Montreal.

Paralympics New Zealand (PNZ) head performance coach Jon Shaw was pleased with the impressive performances of his athletes, and believe they will be in prime condition to challenge for medals at the World Championships.

"This was a fantastic result for NZ Para-swimming and assures us we are on track for strong swims in Montreal at the World Championships," he said.

"A huge congratulations must go to coaches Craig Albery and Simon Mayne who worked the team hard to achieve these results."
