Corinne Callon head and shouldersJune 25 - Corinne Callon has been appointed as French Gymnastics new national technical director, it has been announced.


Callon, 50, had been the technical director for France's Zone II, and is a leading international judge.

She will start her new position when she returns from Mersin, where she has been judging at the Mediterranean Games. 

Callon will be responsible for guiding France's preparations for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

At London 2012 France won one gymnastics medal, Hamilton Sabot, who claimed bronze in the parallel bars, 

Callon's appointment has been endorsed by France's Ministry for Sports, Youth, Popular Education and Associative Life.

Her roles means she will be the direct representative of the Ministry, and will be responsible for all disciplines within the French Gymnastics Federation.
