Infront-logoJune 10 - Infront Sports and Media has won the television and marketing rights for the 2019 and 2021 International Ski Federation (FIS) Alpine and Nordic World Championships.

The decision to appoint the Switzerland-based sports marketing company, which represents six Winter Olympic sport federations, several summer sport organisations and manages the media rights for the FIS World Cup events, was passed at the FIS Council Spring Meeting at the Hotel Croatia in Cavtat-Dubrovnik today.

"The FIS World Championships in the Alpine and Nordic events have demonstrated their status amongst the most important winter sports events," FIS President Gian Franco Kasper explained.

"We are confident that the new partnership between FIS and Infront to market and produce the Championships in 2019 and 2021 can develop them even further and especially on a global basis."

Almaty in Kazakhstan, Oberstdorf in Germany, Planica in Slovenia and Seefeld in Austria have submitted bids for the 2019 Nordic World Championships, and Ǻre in Sweden and Cortina d'Ampezzo in Italy for the Alpine World Championships in the same year, with the hosts to be elected in Barcelona on June 5, 2014.

"We thank the FIS for its trust in our expertise and are proud to provide it with the full spectrum of commercial support out of one hand," Bruno Marty, executive director for winter sports at Infront, said.

"We will greatly contribute our experience from marketing a majority of FIS World Cup events to further strengthen the FIS Alpine and Nordic World Championships."
