May 14 - Channel 4's coverage of the London 2012 Paralympics has earned the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) award for Digital Creativity.
The award comes after Channel 4 teamed up with deltatre and 13Strides for its broadcasting of the Games last summer.
Across the Paralympics as a whole, Channel 4's coverage reached 39.9 million people - more than 69 per cent of the United Kingdom population.
This compares to a reach of 20.5 million for the BBC's coverage of the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games.
"A large team of people put in a terrific amount of hard work around this project and it's fabulous they have been recognised," said Channel 4 commissioning editor James Rutherford.
"It was always our ambition to raise the UK's appreciation of Paralympic sport, but we were staggered by the response from Channel 4's digital audience.
"deltatre's contribution to the success of Channel 4's Paralympic coverage was integral and hugely appreciated."
deltatre's helped achieve new website traffic records on Channel4.com and its mobile platform, and the company's creative director Steve Boulton expressed his delight at the award.
"Having influence across the full breadth of C4's digital offering, including their technical solution, provided an agility which allowed us to achieve much more than would normally be possible," said Boulton, who was the executive editor for the Paralympic Games.
"Our focus was always on telling the true story of the world's elite Paralympic athletes.
"We are very proud to have been trusted with delivering Channel 4's Paralympic vision.
"To be recognised by BAFTA for our Digital Creativity is a tribute to a brilliant and wonderfully committed team."
