May 8 - Glasgow 2014 have unveiled ATP Event Experts as the Games Travel Office provider for the Commonwealth Games next year.
ATP Event Experts are part of the ATPI Group, who are one of the world's leading travel management companies.
The announcement means that ATP Event Experts will now work from Glasgow 2014's Commonwealth House headquarters in the Scottish city where they will link up with travel and accommodation markets for the Games.
The deal comes with ATP Event Experts having worked on numerous major sporting events, including the Olympic and Paralympic Games, the UEFA Champions League and the Rugby World Cup.
"I am delighted to have ATPI on board as our Games Travel Office provider," said Glasgow 2014 chief executive David Grevemberg.
"We are excited to be working with a company with such an extensive background in successfully delivering travel and event services in a wide variety of global events.
"Scotland's largest ever sporting and cultural event will attract many thousands of international tourists and Games-related travellers.
"ATPI have a real commitment to working with the Scottish tourism industry to promote the proud host city and host nation of the next Commonwealth Games.
"ATPI's expertise will not only benefit the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, but their assistance will also ensure we maximise opportunities for visitors to experience all that Scotland has to offer."
Central to the appointment is that ATP Event Experts will manage and sell a range of spectator packages for the event as they look to provide a 'one-stop shop' for visitors with combined deals for tickets, accommodation and travel.
As the official provider of Glasgow 2014 Spectator Packaging, they will also assist VisitScotland and Glasgow City Marketing Bureau to promote the host city and country.
The intention is to increase the spend and length of stay of visitors as well as encourage visits further afield throughout Scotland.
"We are thrilled that our expertise in managing and organising the travel and corporate hospitality requirements for major sporting events has been recognised by the Organising Committee of Glasgow 2014 with the award of the contract to manage the Games Travel Office," said ATPI chief executive Graham Ramsey
"We have an excellent track record in looking after the global family of sporting stars, officials, fans and corporate sponsors, so look forward to bringing the expertise we have from delivering ten Olympic, Paralympic and Winter Olympic Games to this phenomenal event."
During Glasgow 2014, there will be a 24-hour ATP Event Experts help desk set up to resolve any issues and requests relating to accommodation and travel.
In addition, they will provide a dedicated service to facilitate the extensive accommodation and travel-related needs of Games Family, sponsors and the media.
They will also assist competing athletes and team officials by operating a travel office within the international zone of the Athletes' Village during the Commonwealth Games.
