gs2May 5 - Galatasaray Able Lions of Turkey have lifted the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) Europe Champions Cup for the fourth time in their history after securing a 70-51 victory over SSD Santa Lucia of Italy in Valladolid.

Team captain Özgür Gürbulak took centre stage, bagging 21 points, six rebounds and four assists during the final, with the help of Piotr Luszynski, who added 17 points, 10 rebounds, two assists and Mateusz Filipski, who contributed 15 points, three rebounds and two assists for his team.

Galatasaray were defeated by German side RSV Lahn-Dill in the final last year, but overcame their rivals this time in the group stage by 84 points to 72.

The Turkish team opened the tournament with a narrow defeat to Spanish champions CD Fundosa Once, before drastically improving to stroll past fellow Turkish side Beşiktaş after netting 101 points in a thumping against ASD. S. Stefano Sport of Italy on their way to the final.

Galatasaray also lifted the Champions Cup in 2008, 2009 and 2011.
