Kozo KuboMarch 3 - Japan's Kozo Kubo finally took gold after three silver medals at the 2013 International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Nordic Skiing World Championships in Solleftea, Sweden, with a win in the men's sitting biathlon long distance race.

The IPC Athlete of the Month for January did not miss a single target and finished in a time of 44min 04sec to finish 35 seconds ahead of Russia's triple world champion Roman Petushkov.

Another Russia, Irek Zaripov, took bronze with a time of 45:48.

In the women's sitting biathlon long distance race, Germany's Andrea Eskau took victory in a time of 45:10.6 to finish over one minute ahead of second placed Marta Zaynullina of Russia, with bronze going to Ukraine's double world champion Olena Iurkovska in a final time of 47:02.

Norway's Nils Erik Ulset won the men's standing race in a time of 38:19.6, with France's Yannick Bourseaux and Canada's Mark Arendz taking second and third respectively, while in the women's standing race, Russia's Anna Milenina took gold in 43:43 with silver going to Ukraine's Iryna Bui and Finland's Maja Jarvela the bronze.

In the men's visually impaired category, Nikolay Polukhin and guide Andrey Tokarev took victory in 37:32 with Ukraine's Vitaliy Lukyanenko and guide Borys Babar picking up silver and German''s Wilhelm Brehm and guide Florian Grimm the bronze.

In the women's visually impaired category, Russia's Mikhailina Lysova and guide Alexey Ivanov took victory in 41:03 with silver going to her compatriots Iulia Budaleeva and guide Tatiana Maltseva and bronze to Elena Remizova and guide Natalia Yakimovato make it an all-Russia podium.
