The team event was a non-medal competition, featuring high-speed ski cross for the first time, which was won by Austria, followed by the United States and France in second and third respectively.

"This event has combined exceptional planning and hard work from the Organising Committee with incredible performances from athletes and guides on an elite level," said chair of the IPC Alpine Skiing Sport Technical Committee Sylvia Mestre in her speech at the Closing Ceremony.

"Around 120 athletes from 28 different countries proved their strength with some sensational finishes on the slopes of Catalunya."

The 19-year-old Bochet was undoubtedly the star of the Championships, taking gold in all five of the events she competed in.

Spain's Jon Santacana wtih guide Miguel Galindo Garces, Russia's Alexandra Frantseva with Pavel Zabotin, Austria's Claudia Loesch and Japan's Taiki Morii all put in superb performances over the week, taking three gold medals each in their respective classes.

There was also a first world title for Austrian Matthias Lanzinger, who lost his leg in a skiing accident five years ago, in the men's standing super-combined on Monday (February 25).
