The 19-year-old Bochet edged out German rival Andrea Rothfuss once again, consigning her to her fourth silver medal of the Championships in the women's standing giant slalom event.

"It feels incredible, just crazy." she said.

"I am so happy to win all five medals.

"I think this achievement will only sink in once I have all five gold medals around my neck, it's so amazing.

"I was confident going into this event as I was defending champion, but to win five from five, I can't quite believe it."

Three other skiers retained their giant slalom world titles today, including Spaniard Jon Santacana, with guide Miguel Galindo Garces, who recovered from two falls in the last two races to take their third gold of the Championships, ahead of Canadians Mac Marcoux, with guide BJ Marcoux in silver and Chris Williamson and guide Robin Femy in bronze.

Vincent Gauthier-Manuel of France also retained his title in the giant slalom men's standing class, taking his second gold of the Championships ahead of 15-year-old Russian prodigy Alexey Bugaev, who won his second silver in succession, and Switzerland's Michael Bruegger, who won his second bronze of the week.

Japan's Taiki Morri continued his impressive form as he took his third gold medal of the Championships to retain his world title in the men's sitting giant slalom, with compatriot Takeshi Suzuki winning silver and Switzerland's Christoph Kunz taking bronze.

Alexandra Frantseva of Russia, and guide Pavel Zabotin, won their third gold of the Championships as they edged out Canada's Viviane Forest and guide Chloe Lauzon-Gauthier by just two tenths of a second.

The Canadians had to settle for silver, with Britain's Kelly Gallagher and guide Charlotte Evans taking bronze to make it their fourth medal of the tournament, though a gold medal eluded them. 

Austria's Claudia Loesch pulled back a two-second deficit to overhaul defending champion, Anna Schaffelhuber of Germany, and take her third gold of the Championships in the women's sitting giant slalom, leaving Schaffelhuber settling for silver.

Kimberly Joines of Canada took bronze.

France finish top of the overall medals table, thanks in large part to Bochet's contribution of five gold medals, with seven gold overall, two silver and three bronze.
