The aim of the Camps is to introduce talented disability athletes and staff to a multi-sport environment which will enable them to thrive at a Paralympic Games.

The Camps are currently scheduled to be held in the UK in August 2013 and 2014, with Rio 2016 due to take place from September 7 to18.

Venues will be assessed on their provision of world-class training facilities, accommodation, catering, medical facilities and technical and ancillary facilities and services.

The University of Bath served as the main ParalympicsGB preparation base in the lead up to London 2012 as the team went on to claim 120 medals, 34 of which were gold, to finish third on the medal table behind China and Russia respectively.

"The Camps that we have delivered in previous cycles have been credited by our athletes for providing crucial support in their preparations for the Paralympic Games, enabling us to deliver our best prepared ParalympicsGB team to compete on the world stage," said BPA chief executive Tim Hollingsworth.

"In seeking a partner to host our Camps in the next cycle, we are looking to maintain this performance edge for our elite athletes, enabling us to be one of the leading Paralympic nations in the world."


The deadline for interested parties to submit an expression of interest is 9am on February 25 this month.

A shortlist of up to four venues will then be selected and notified on March 4, with assessment visits to follow.

The tender document submission then closes on March 15, with the contract to be agreed and signed on April 26.
