Efrosina Angelova 040213February 9 - Efrosina Angelova has been named as the coach to lead Bulgaria's national rhythmic gymnastics individual competitors to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

Having already worked with the Bulgarian team, the renowned coach is due to return from the United States this month and will be hoping for a repeat of some of her past successes with the nation, including when she led the gymnasts to European Championship titles, with three ribbons/three hoops and six balls in Helsinki in 1988.

The following year she helped the team to gold medals in six clubs and in three ribbons/three hoops at the World Championships in Sarajevo.

"Efrosina Angelova's skills as a coach are indisputable," Iliana Raeva, Bulgarian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation President, said.

"The gymnasts will keep their personal coaches, but Efrosina will plan and control their training."

Bulgaria sent one individual rhythmic gymnast, Sylvia Miteva, to the London 2012 Olympic Games where she finished eighth overall.
