All the fighters weighed-in successfully here ahead of the bout which will see the Lionhearts spearheaded by London 2012 Olympic silver medallist John Joe Nevin (pictured top) of Ireland.

The hugely popular 23-year-old from County Westmeath is set to take on the USA Knockouts' Beijing 2008 Olympic silver medallist Daouda Sow at lightweight in what promises to be one of the most entertaining bouts of the WSB season so far.

"I'm thoroughly enjoying the WSB and the professional style of boxing it involves," Nevin told insidethegames.

"It brings added pressure boxing for a team and I'm enjoying that.

"It is also great to be fighting at York Hall for the first time because it is an iconic boxing venue.

"I'm really looking forward to boxing there."

Starting the proceedings tomorrow night will be Estonia's Kaupo Arro, who will be making his debut for the Lionhearts against the USA's Jeffrey Camp at middleweight.

Nevin and Sow will then face off in their lightweight clash before Britain's 2011 AIBA World Championships silver medallist Andrew Selby locks horns with the Knockouts' 2012 Olympic bronze medal winner Michael Conlan of Ireland at bantamweight.


The two met at the quarter-final stages of the World Championships in Baku two years ago with Selby edging it by one point so a lot is expected from the rematch.

"Conlan is a very good boxer and the last time we met at the World Championships in 2011, it was one of the best bouts of the whole tournament so hopefully this one will be every bit as good," he said.

"World Series of Boxing is a slightly different format but it will suit both of our styles and should make for a great contest.

"I am really enjoying the competition so far and after two good wins feel I am really settling into it and am looking forward to boxing again at York Hall this week."

Reigning European champion Joe Ward of Ireland will represent the Lionhearts in the penultimate fight of the evening at light heavyweight against the Knockouts' Croatian star Marko Calic while the show will be bought to a close with powerful British heavyweight Joseph Joyce of the Lionhearts taking on Avery Gibson of the Knockouts.

The Lionhearts will be looking to retain their unbeaten home record while they have so far won three of their five matches.

Their first win of the entire completion against came away to the Knockouts, who they comprehensively beat 4-1 at The Hangar in Costa Mesa, California.

The match tomorrow night will be followed by two more home bouts at York Hall for the Lionhearts as they face the Astana Arlans Kazakhstan on February 7 and the Ukraine Otamans on March 1.

The venue has previously hosted some of Britain's greatest ever fighters, including Lennox Lewis and Joe Calzaghe.
