Azarenka 110113January 11- World number one Victoria Azarenka and number four Agnieszka Radwanska will compete in the zone groups of this year's Fed Cup by BNP Paribas, the premier team tournament in women's tennis.


The Fed Cup is the female equivalent of the Davis Cup, and is structured in a similar fashion with relegation and promotion from regional groups leading to the elite World Group, in which nations must compete in order to win the competition.

Azarenka and Radwanska are the highest-ranked players to take part in the tournament in 2013, participating for Belarus and Poland respectively, in the Europe/Africa Zone Group One.

Other top 50-ranked players competing in the zone groups include Britain's Heather Watson and Laura Robson, Romania's Simona Halep of Romania and Kazakhstan's Yaroslava Shvedova.

The first zone groups will take place between the February 4 and 11, as nations battle it out for the chance to win promotion to the World Group II.

Czech Republic are the current holders of the Fed Cup World Group, the first round of which is due to take place on February 9 and 10.
