Gwangju Universiade_Ambassadors_Oct_7_October 7 - London 2012 Olympic medallists Yan Hak-Seon, Choi Eun-Sook and Ki Bo-Bae are to be ambassadors for the 2015 Gwangju Universiade.


Hak-Seon (pictured above, third left) took gold in the artistic gymnastics men's vault, while Bo-Bae (pictured above, second left) won women's individual archery gold.

Eun-Sook (pictured above, second right) claimed a silver medal in the women's team epee, as South Korea finished fifth in the Olympic Games medal table.

"Yang, Ki and Choi are closely related to Gwangju and have obtained a world-wide reputation," a Gwangju 2015 spokesperson said

"At the same time, they will be very active in their own fields at least until 2015.

"Therefore, their participation in various sports competitions in and out of South Korea will naturally contribute to raising the public awareness of Gwangju Universiade."

They were confirmed as ambassadors at a ceremony attended by Gwangju 2015 chairman Kang Un-Tae, also the Mayor of the city.

The Gwangju Universiade, taking place in July 2015, will involve more than 14,000 athletes, officials and judges.
