swiss fan_zoneAugust 26 - Switzerland is to maintain its official presence in London for the Paralympic Games, following the success of the House of Switzerland, which welcomed more than quarter of a million visitors during the Olympics.

The Swiss Fan Zone will be held at La Cave restaurant by London Bridge, near the historic Borough Market, featuring live music, competitions, family activities and Swiss cuisine, bringing together both athletes and fans in an open, welcoming environment.

Run by the Swiss Embassy, together with Swiss Paralympics, Presence Switzerland – Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, and the Federal Bureau for the Equality of People with Disabilities, the Swiss Fan Zone will offer music of all styles and from all regions of the country, from alphorns to reggae and jazz to chanson.

President of the Swiss Confederation Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf will open the facility on Thursday (August 30) after formally representing the nation at the Paralympic Opening Ceremony the day before.

True to the spirit of Switzerland's presence at every Olympic Games since 1998, the Swiss Fan Zone will be free to all members of the public when it runs until September 12 and accessibility is guaranteed for both disabled and able-bodied visitors.
