The Jordanian Paralympic squad is training in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, and the assaults allegedly took place at the Antrim Forum (pictured top).

However, those charged have not been named so it is still unclear what their roles are or if they are even athletes, as some media has reported.

The trio are to appear in court later today to respond to the allegations, with one of the men facing charges of two counts of sexual activity with a child, sexual assault against a woman and voyeurism.

Another is charged with causing sexual activity with a child, and the third with sexual assault against a woman.

The BBC is reporting that the Northern Ireland Sports Minister Carál Ní Chuilín (pictured below) has called an emergency meeting with Sport Northern Ireland.


"This is a police matter and PSNI (Police Service of Northern Ireland) are undertaking a full investigation," Antrim Council said in a statement.

There are also teams from Kuwait, Qatar, Algeria, Djibouti, Oman, Egypt, Sudan, Mexico, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines training in the area.

The Jordanian delegation is to leave Northern Ireland today in preparation for the start of the Paralympics next week.

Jordan has won eight medals since they first participated at the Paralympics, with half of those won at Beijing four years ago.

The country has sent 19 athletes and coaches to London 2012, competing in table tennis, powerlifting and athletics.
