Swimming Paralympics_Beijing_JUne_3June 4 - The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Academy has concluded a six day training programme for swimming officials.

The training was conducted by IPC Swimming in conjunction with the Academy, and was for educators, classifiers and technical officials.

More than 40 participants from 19 countries came to Troisdorf in Germany for the training.

The first part of the training programme was for existing classifiers and educators, teaching them how to train new staff in the same role.

Five participants involved in this aspect of the training were certified at the end of the six-day programme.

They were then given the chance to deliver an IPC Swimming Classifier Certification Course to over 20 of their peers.

The IPC Academy works to improve educational standards across sports in the Paralympic Movement to ensure that executives, administrators and officials have an educational centre fit to provide world class programmes.
