Reid took the singles title in Sunderland after beating fellow Briton Eddy Holt, Spain's Daniel Caverzaschi and South African Eliphas Maripa in straight sets, then crushing Hungarian Laszlo Farkas 6-3, 6-0 in the final.

Reid and 14-year-old Alfie Hewett reached the final of the men's doubles but lost to Slovakian David Chabrecek and Farkas 3-6, 7-5, 7-5.

"It was a good win for me today and I'm delighted to get my first title of the season and my third at this tournament," said Reid.

"Unfortunately I couldn't quite make it a double, although it was a very close match and I really enjoyed teaming up with Alfie."

Shuker won the women's singles without dropping a game until the semi-finals, where she overcame Germany's Bianca Osterer 6-3, 6-0, before beating Lola Ochoa of Spain 6-0, 6-4 in the final.

Briton Louise Hunt retained her doubles title alongside Shuker with a 6-0, 6-1 win over compatriots Debbie Brazier and Val Fisher, while Britain's Adam Field beat fellow countryman Antony Cotterill 7-6, 6-4 in the final of the men's quad.

The duo won the doubles final against another pair of British contenders, John Irving and Liam O'Reilly, 6-0, 6-1, to complete a superb tournament for the host nation.

"For British players to come away from any tournament having won five out of six titles is always very satisfying and to do it on home soil is especially nice," said the Tennis Foundation's head of disability player performance Geraint Richards.

"Our players will now return home for another week before some head to Europe and others travel to North America for an important series of tournaments as we continue on the road to the end of the London 2012 qualification period on 20 May."
