Sascha Kindred_2February 21 - Sascha Kindred, Britain's six-time Paralympic swimming champion, has admitted that he is still unsure about the events in which he wants to compete at London 2012 even though the British Gas Swimming Championships, which act as the Paralympics selection trials, take place in less than two weeks.

The 34-year-old, who was born in Germany with cerebral palsy but grew up in Oldham, has dominated his disability class for over a decade and as well as his Paralympic gold medals, has nine World Championship and 11 European Championship gold medals in his glittering collection.

But Kindred admits that he hasn't settled on what events he wants to compete in at the British Gas Swimming Championships, scheduled for the Aquatics Centre on the Olympic Park in Stratford from March 3 to 10.

"I am now in deep training preparing for the Paralympic Trials in March so there is very little time for anything else other than training," he said.

"I have been to Sierra Nevada in Spain a couple of times over the years and have found that altitude training has benefited me during my races, but now I can achieve an altitude camp at home so I can train as normal.

"This training phase will help me to cope with less oxygen and, in turn, train better when I am out of breath.

"This is all to help me prepare for the trials.

"With only a few weeks left I am still unsure of all the events I want to try and swim in.

"But my predicted events in order of preference are the 200m individual medley, the 100m breaststroke, the 50m fly, 50m freestyle and the 100m freestyle.

"I am looking forward to the trials and the year ahead and will keep you all updated with what I am doing."

Kindred will be one of a number of Paralympic stars competing in the Championships, which serve as the official London 2012 swimming test event, next month alongside the likes of Ellie Simmonds and Jonathan Fox.
