Popstar Reid, who was nominated Best New Artist at the 2012 JUNO Awards, will headline a number of musical and artistic acts, who will be performing at the Parade of Champions in Calgary.

it will act as the culmination of a three-day tour celebrating Canadian Olympic and Paralympic athletes' achievements at the Sochi 2014 Winter Games.

Calgary Canadian Broadcasting Corporation personalities Doug Dirks and Rosa Marchitelli will be the hosts for the parade, which gets underway at 11:30am local time.

Sochi 2014 assistant Chef de Mission, Jean-Luc Brassard and the Mayor of Calgary, Naheed Nenshi, who will join as the official parade Grand Marshall, will also lead the celebrations as the parade makes its way from 8th Avenue at 10th Street and finish at Olympic Plaza on Macleod Trail.

That will be followed by the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame Gala Dinner and Induction Ceremony at the Saddledome indoor arena, where Reid will be joined by other music and entertainments acts including Roch Voisine, Brett Kissel, Andee, Frédéric Darveau and Whip Cream Band, Cirque du Soleil, Oliver Jones and Daniel Clarke Bouchard.

In addition, Olympians Natalie Spooner, Gilmore Junio, Eric Radford, Dylan Moscovitch, and Jan Hudec will hit the stage for a "one night only" musical jam session.

"The Olympic and Paralympic Games are beacons of patriotism in our country," said 21-year-old Reid.

"As a proud Canadian artist, it is such an honour to perform for my fellow Albertans and the entire team for such an amazing Canadian event honouring our athletic heroes."

The Celebration of Excellence tour is due to start in the Ottawa area on Wednesday (June 4) and will see more than 200 Olympians, Paralympians and coaches visit more than 175 schools, hospitals and the House of Commons in the Canadian capital before moving on to Banff, Red Deer, Edmonton and then Calgary prior to the Parade of Champions on June 6.

The Heroes Tour school visits form part of a larger education programme implemented by both the COC and CPC, where free classroom resources are offered to educators across Canada in order to instill Olympic and Paralympic values at a grassroots level.

Canada finished third on the Winter Olympic medals table in Sochi with a total of 25 medals, including 10 gold, while the Paralympians also came third on the overall standings with 16 medals, seven of them gold.

"The 2014 Celebration of Excellence has a star-studded line-up that will have guests and fans screaming for more," said COC President, Marcel Aubut.

"This will truly be a celebration to remember.

"They deserve this."
