August 12 - Munich 2018 has launched its first promotional televison advertisement, which featured the bid's two-part concept based in Munich and Garmisch-Partenkirchen.


The 30-second advert, which was aired free of charge by national sports channel Sport 1, was aired during the recent football match between Bayern Munich and the Winter Stars, involving 21 of the Munich 2018 ambassadors. 

A total of 270,000 viewers watched the game live on Sport 1, with 120,000 staying tuned for the Munich 2018 advertisement. 
 
Willy Bogner, the chief executive of Munich 2018, was delighted by the winning start to the TV campaign.

He said: "Over the coming months, Munich 2018 hopes to reach out to the public and the TV campaign is a cornerstone in achieving this goal.

"We are delighted to be working alongside German TV stations to further boost nationwide support for the bid, by sharing the unique opportunity to be part of the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in 2018."
