Anna Holmlund dominated the womens competition winning on back to back days ©Agence Zoom/Getty ImagesSweden's Anna Holmlund and France's Jean Fred Chapuis were crowned Ski-Cross World Cup winners after they were both victorious on the final day of the season in Megeve, France.


Holmlund dominated the competition yesterday in the first of back-to-back days of competition, as she posted the fastest qualifying time, before cruising through her heats.

She backed up her performances by winning the big final, ahead of Austria's Katrin Ofner and Norway's Marte Høie Gjefsen, second and third respectively.

Holmuld began in a similar fashion today, advancing through to the big final without being tested as she chased her third consecutive World Cup victory in a row.

Austria's world champion Andrea Limbacher and the French pairing of Ophelie David and Alizeer Baron had no answer to the Swede in the final, as Holmund was the fastest out of the gate and maintain her composure to build her advantage and take the victory.

Limbacher was able to see off the French challenge to finish second, while David claimed the final podium position ahead of Baron.

Baron finished as runner up behind Holmund in the race for the World Cup crystal globe, the prize for the overall winner, while Fanny Smith of Switzerland preserved her third place in the standings by battling through injury to claim a top eight finish in Megeve.

France enjoyed two successful days in the men's competition firstly seeing their skiers earn a clean sweep yesterday, with Sylvain Miaillier earning his first career victory.

The Frenchman has struggled with vision problems for the last two years but finished ahead of his countrymen Bastian Midol and Chapuis, who earned second and third respectively in the big final.

Chapuis, however, ensured the World Cup season would end in style claiming victory ahead of Canada's Brady Leman today.

Germany's Paul Eckert pulled off an impressive overtaking manoeuvre to finish on the podium ahead of Midol.

Sochi 2014 champion Chapuis claimed the World Cup crystal globe, ahead of Sweden's Victor Oehling Norberg, while Midol ended the season in third.
