She is hoping to overturn a four-year skiing ban from competitive action imposed by the International Ski Federation (FIS) last November.

The 36-year-old Singapore-born Briton competed for Thailand in Sochi under her father's surname Vanakorn, finishing 67th and last in the giant slalom event.

It was subsequently claimed that she competed in four fixed qualifying races in Krvavcu, Slovenia, in order to qualify for the Games.

Mae, a British violinist with album sales reaching several million, dismissed the ban when it was awarded as "nonsensical" and her management have since insisted that she wants to clear her name and resume skiing.

Today's hearing in Lausanne will be kept behind closed doors, despite the fact that Mae had reportedly expressed a wish for it to be conducted publicly.

Two FIS rulings are being discussed by the CAS, relating to her alleged involvement in the fixed races, as well as he consequent annulment of her result in Sochi.
