Iraschko-Stolz jumps of 101 and 95 metres resulted in a total of 245.2 points, which saw her finish 7.5 ahead of Vogt, who won the previous World Cup in Japan but could only managed second with 96 and 95.5 metre jumps.

The top three in Germany was completed by Japan's Sara Takanashi, who has won two World Cup events this year, as her jumps saw her post a total of 232.1 points to finish on the podium.

"It was a perfect day for me, I'm very happy about my first win this season," said Iraschko-Stolz after her triumph.

"I had two good jumps, so far I have been jumping well in training and wasn't able to show it in the competition.

"I'm happy that I did that today and I'm looking forward to tomorrow."

Vogt praised the home crowd following her second place finish saying, "the support of the audience was fantastic."

"This is my home town, that's why the second place is special," she added.

Meanwhile at the men's event in Japan, there was more glory for Roman Koudelka of the Czech Republic, whose jumps of 133m and 132m saw him finish ahead of Poland's Kamil Stoch and yesterday's Slovenian winner Peter Prevc, who finished second and third respectively.

The result saw Stefan Kraft's streak of consecutive podium finishes, which stood at six, come to an end as the Austrian finished in fourth in Sapporo.

"My first jump was good, the second one wasn't really good but I had luck with the wind conditions," admitted Koudelka.

"Of course, I'm very happy about this win.

"Last year I didn't come to Sapporo because of my illness, but this year I'm in a good shape so I had no problems with the long trip."

Double Olympic champion Stoch's finished just 4.9 points behind the victor, while Prevc's third place finish appears to confirm that the Slovenian has found form ahead of the World Championships, which will be in Falun, Sweden from February 19 to 28.
