Organisers have decided to take the event to Tignes, France, from March 22 to April 3.

It means the senior, junior and children's national Championships will take place at the Stade Olympiques de Lognan in Val Claret, Tignes' highest village.

"After 10 very successful years of hosting the British National Alpine Championships in Méribel, we are really excited about our move to Tignes," said Dave Edwards, chief executive of British Ski and Snowboard.

"We would like to thank Méribel for their support in helping make the Championships a must-attend event, but we felt the Championships were ready for a change and to give another world class resort the chance to do our Championships proud."

The Championships will continue to be supported by Delancey - a specialist real estate investment and advisory company - and long term supporter of British snow sports, Sir John Ritblat, honorary President of British Ski & Snowboard.

The Mayor of Tignes, Jean-Christophe Vitale, said: "You can be rest assured that the resort will do its utmost to give a warm welcome to all the participants of this exciting event.

"On the technical side we will ensure optimal piste conditions and endeavor to satisfy all requirements for top class racing."

The resort boasts high altitude skiing, with the base of the race piste used for championships at 2,100 metres.
