Home athlete Rachel Klamer has won the Holten European Cup ©European Triathlon UnionHome athlete Rachel Klamer and Russia's Dmitry Polyanskiy have won the women's and men's races at the European Triathlon Union (ETU) Premium European Cup in the Dutch village of Holten.

Klamer, last year's continental champion, said the victory was a "dream come true" as she finished ahead of France's Audrey Merle and South African Kate Roberts.

Meanwhile for European silver medallist Polyanskiy, the win was his first continental race gold since Tiszaújváros, Hungary, in 2009.

Christophe Hettich of Germany and Frenchman Simon Viain finished in second and third place respectively.

Elsewhere, France's Margot Garabedian won her first European Junior Cup, and was followed to the finish line by Denmark's Alberte Kjær Pedersen and her compatriot Emilie Morier.

Hungarian Bence Bicsák topped the podium in the junior men's race ahead of Austria's Lukas Pertl and Gustav Iden of Norway.
