The Bryan Brothers secured their ninth year-end world ranking top spot with their win at the Cincinnati Masters August 19 - American Olympic gold medallists and winners of fifteen Grand Slam doubles titles, the Bryan brothers, have secured their status as the year-end world number one ranked pairing for the ninth time, and the fifth year in succession.

Bob and Mike Bryan have been the dominant force in men's doubles tennis over the last decade and have been particularly impressive this campaign, notching up titles at the French Open, Australian Open and at Wimbledon to leave them with a chance of becoming the first team in the modern Open era to complete the Grand Slam of all four major titles in one season later this month on their home turf at Flushing Meadows.

The pair would be the first team since Ken McGregor and Frank Sedgman in 1951 to win all four Grand Slam titles in one season if they win the US Open title for the fifth time this year.

The 35-year-old twins secured the year-end world number one ranking with their 25th ATP World Tour Masters 1000 title in Cincinnati at the weekend and celebrated with their signature chest bump as they added to their wins at Sydney, Memphis, Indian Wells, Madrid, Rome and Queen's.

"To clinch the year-end number one ranking this early in the season is a dream come true," said Bob.

"It's always our ultimate goal starting out each season and this will give us great confidence going into New York.

"There is still a lot of tennis left and we want to keep our foot on the gas."

After the US Open, which is due to start next Monday (August 26), the Bryans will look to put the icing on the cake of their incredible season at the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals at The O2 in London this November, of which they have secured qualification for the eleventh straight year and twelfth time in total, winning the title on three occasions.
