Jones made history at London 2012 when she became the youngest ever Team GB gold medallist with victory over Hou Yuzhuo of China in the final of the women's under 57 kilogram weight category.

The win also ensured Jones became the first ever athlete from Great Britain to win taekwondo gold at the Olympic Games.

Following International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach's Agenda 2020 recommendations, Jones was one of 11 athletes to join the German in Lausanne to discuss the 40 points and the impact they will have on the Olympic Movement.

"It was a real honour to be invited to Lausanne to meet with IOC President Bach and discuss the 40 recommendations that will make up Olympic Agenda 2020," said Jones.

"As an athlete it is great to see that the focus is really being put on ensuring that we have the best possible environment to compete in.

"This is a very exciting time for Olympic sport and I have no doubt that the WTF [World Taekwondo Federation] will work closely with the IOC to make taekwondo as exciting and appealing to athletes and fans as possible‎."

Jones' involvement in the round table was yet further proof of the WTF's commitment to the Olympic Movement.

The 21-year-old from Wales joins the likes of double Olympic gold medallist Mo Farah and Jenny Jones, Great Britain's first ever Winter Olympic medallist, at the M&C Saatchi Merlin agency.

Also among its ranks are Hodgson, Mansell, Sydney 200 heptathlon champion Denise Lewis, former England cricket captain Andrew Flintoff and ex-England and Liverpool footballer Jamie Redknapp.
