China dominated day two of the ISSF Rifle and Pistol World Cup Finals winning both gold medalsNovember 9 - China raced ahead of the competition at the International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) Rifle and Pistol World Cup Final in Munich today, as it took another two gold medals to make it three out of four in its overall gold medal haul.

After sharing a gold apiece with America in yesterday's 25 metre pistol competitions, athlete's from China raised the bar in today's events, winning both the men's and women's 10m air rifle competitions.

Olympic and world champion Yi Siling took the first of these gold medals in the 10m air rifle women's contest, continuing her dominance of the event with more than a point victory over her nearest rival.

Yi took control of the competition from start to finish, increasing her lead series after series and leaving no chances for her opponents to catch her.

Despite coming into the finals with an injured ankle, which led to her having to change her standing position, the 24-year-old showed again why she is the best in the world at her event.

"It has been really hard to win today's medal," Yi said after the final.

"This has been a long season, and I injured my ankle in a minor accident at the Asian Games, just ten days ago.

"I had to change a bit my position and adapt my shooting style, to compete here, but luckily everything worked fine."

Joining Yi on the podium was Serbian Olympic silver medallist, in the 50m rifle three positions, Ivana Maksimović and fellow Chinese shooter Wu Liuxi.

Maksimović secured the silver medal with a score of 209.2 points, 1.1 behind Yi, capitalising on a low 10's slip up by Wu on the 15th and 16th shots of the final.

After losing second place to the Serbian in the late stages of the competition, Wu had to settle for bronze with a score of 187.9 points.

The men's event saw the youngest finalist of the day, 17-year-old Yang Haoran, take the gold medal with 205.9 points.

Yang has been impressive in this year's World Cup series, winning consecutive stages in Munich and Fort Manning in May.

The youngster built a steady lead over his opponents shooting consistently throughout the final however a last shot of just 9.1 put his title chances in jeopardy.

But fellow countryman Wang Tao was unable to capitalise on the slip up and finished just 0.2 points behind Yang with a final score of 205.7 points.

"I don't think I am really special," said Yang after the final.

"I know I am just 17-year old, but I put all my energies into the sport.

"Passion is my motivations since the beginning.

"I had seen some shooting competitions on TV, and I got fascinated by the sport, that's why I started.

"My next aims?

"I just want to have as many chance to compete as possible.

"And I would really like to visit Campriani in Italy for some training."

Italy's reigning world champion and 2012 Olympic champion Niccolo Campriani, described as an inspiration by gold medallist Yang, joined the two Chinese athletes on the podium, winning the bronze medal.

Campriani had been neck and neck with Finland's Juho Kurki throughout the competition but eventually managed to secure the bronze with an impressive 10.6 and 10.5 point score for his 15th and 16th shots.
