The dinner at the New York Athletic Club will also serve as a fundraiser for the US team, and the athletes from the America Rows and USRowing adaptive programmes.

"We are extremely proud of our 2012 Olympians and Paralympians and honoured to salute their success at the London Olympic Games," said Dick Cashin, managing partner of One Equity Partners.

"Their commitment to USRowing has been unrivalled and they did an incredible job of representing the United States.

"Never being known to rest on their laurels, they are already focused on Rio 2016.

"The Golden Oars Awards Dinner gives us the opportunity to not only recognise their London achievements but to show our support as they begin their four year journey to Rio.

"It is up to us as a community to advance the growth of our sport throughout the United States by supporting USRowing and its initiatives.

"We have made great strides with our America Rows Diversity and Inclusion initiative, as well as with our adaptive programmes and we look forward to furthering these missions and bringing the benefits of rowing to all.
