Leila GyeneseiMay 13 - Hungarian pair Leila Gyenesei and Adam Marosi collected their second World Cup Series Mixed Relay gold this season with victory on home soil in Budapest.

The dynamic duo were the outstanding performers throughout as they finished second in the fencing, third in the pool and fourth in the ride before a controlled display in the final run/shoot event saw them cruise to the title in front of their home fans some 20 seconds ahead of their nearest challengers to be crowned champions.

"We are very happy", said Marosi, the London 2012 Olympic bronze medallist who took silver in the individual event in Budapest behind Britain's Jamie Cooke.

"It was great to do it at home."

Gyenesei admitted she was equally delighted to secure the win at home.

"Maybe there was a little bit more pressure because we were in our home country so we were a little bit more nervous," she said.

"But it was okay in the end."

Behind the Hungarian pair, a sensational burst of speed by Ukraine's Ruslan Nakonechnyi ensured he and Victoria Tereshuk snatched silver from Katarzina Wojcik and Szymon Staskiewicz of Poland right on the finish line.

It gave Tereshuk her second silver medal in Budapest after she finished second in the women's event behind compatriot Victoria Tereshuk

Fourth place went to United States pair Margaux Isaksen and Dennis Bowsher whilst the Belarusian duo Yelizarova and Tsikhanau took fifth.

The focus and attention of the world's best pentathletes will now turn to the World Cup Final later this month in Nizhny Novgorod in Russia which is due to take place from May 31 to June 2.
