Serge Bouyssou, Kevin Earls, Joseph Marchal, George Van Amson and James Webb are the five men put forward by The USA Judo Nomination Committee has submitted for the role after being recommended by individual members of the governing body.

The Nomination Committee based their decision on select criteria within the USA Judo By-laws, namely knowledge of the overall national judo landscape, professional technical skills, professional non-technical abilities, and the individual's contribution to the national, regional, and local judo community.

The names will now be put forward to President Nading and his Board of Directors with a final decision set to be made before the December 31 deadline, which was outlined on October 2.

Each of the candidates bring a wealth of experience from both a business and judo background.

Bouyssou is the head instructor at Mayo Quanchi Judo and Wrestling Club, and a former coach of the US Junior National Team.

Earls, on the other hand, has participated in judo for more than 40 years and been chairman of judo at the New York Athletics Club since 1990.

Marchal is a former world and Olympic judoka for the United States.

He competed at the 1988 Seoul Games, where he lost to Japan's Yosuke Yamamoto in the third round of the men's under 65 kilogram division.

Van Amson is an executive director and sales trading manager at Morgan Stanley Inc and was one of a number of businessmen to donate to the US London 2012 Olympic Fund, which raised money for judoka looking to compete at the Games.

Webb is a former national judo champion, national coach and international referee.

He is a former President of the United States Judo Association and currently sits on the Rank and Certification Committee at USA Judo.
