Crista Cullen_03-02-12February 4 - Britain's women's hockey coach Danny Kerry has hailed his team's 4-1 victory over South Korea in the Champions Trophy quarterfinals in Rosario, Argentina, as "magnificent" and told insidethegames they will be "thoroughly prepared" for their semi-final with Germany.

It continued a superb tournament so far in which Britain have yet to lose, having beaten China and Japan in the pool stage, as well as coming from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with reigning champions the Netherlands.

"The girls were magnificent yesterday," Kerry told insidethegames after a game in which his team had gone 3-0 up following a superb five minute spell in the first half.

"In the first half we started with energy, and were good value for the three goals we put on the scoreboard.

"In the second half [South] Korea left players high and the game became frenetic.

"We showed great resolve in battling through the pressure that Korea were always going to apply and we were simply world class in our corner defence and then corner attack to win the game.

"Executing these things under pressure showed the resolve in the team."

One of the key players for Britain in their run has been Leicester's Crista Cullen (pictured), who has five goals to her name in the tournament, making her the top scorer in Kerry's team so far.

Cullen also looks to be something of a lucky charm, as Britain are unbeaten in Champions Trophy games in which she has found the net.

However, she told insidethegames that she does not read much into her goalscoring exploits.

"They've all been penalty corners which I purely rely on my team to get them and I just happen to be the one who happens to be given the opportunity," she said.

"I'm very happy with how our penalty corners are going and long may it continue.

"It's down to the team, our work ethic and our turnover, and how clinical we are in the D has got us to where we are."

Two of the goals on Thursday (February 2) against South Korea were from penalty corners, which Britain have been particularly impressive from during the tournament, but Cullen insists that the form of the likes of Alex Danson (pictured centre), who scored twice, shows that they have much more to their game than that.

Looking forward to tonight's match, Britain may be optimistic when they come up against Germany, particularly considering their recent good record and England's - Great Britain only play together at the Champions Trophy in Olympic years - 2-1 win over their old rivals for the bronze medal when the competition was held in Nottingham two years ago.

With Argentina facing the Netherlands in the other semi-final, a repeat of both the 2010 and 2011 finals, it means the four semi-finalists are also the top four teams in the world, something which comes as little surprise to Cullen, who also says that "history is very much in our favour" when it comes to facing the Germans.

"They've had a very successful Champions Trophy, winning their pool with teams like Argentina so by no means will this be an easy game," she adds.

"We'll approach it as we did our South Korea game – take our game to Germany and I think it'll be a very even match – an epic game for a semi-final."

Kerry believes that the Germans will be eager for revenge after recent results between the two nations.

"We know they have a point to prove as our current run against them has been good," he said.

"The Germans have been experimenting with moving experienced players into their back line to give them calmness and experience at the back.

"At the same time they have selected a number of new faces to try and refresh their team.

"We will be thoroughly prepared, as ever, for the coming semi-final."

If Kerry's side win the match, which is being screened live from Argentina on the BBC via the red button on Saturday night, they will become the first British team to reach a Champions Trophy final.
