Valencia, which will become the first Spanish city to host top level international hockey since the 2006 Women's World Cup in Madrid, will welcome 10 teams playing for four places in the finals.

The event will also act as a qualifier for the Rio 2016 Olympics.

As revealed in November last year, Belgium will stage the other semi-finals in 2015.

The subsequent eight finalists will then head to Auckland in 2017 to compete in the Women's Hockey World League, which will take place at the newly developed New Zealand National Hockey Centre.

Meanwhile, the International Hockey Federation (FIH) named the Netherlands as the host of the 2018 Men's Champions Trophy.

This event will take place at the Wagener Stadium in Amsterdam, which hosted the 2011 Women's Champions Trophy and 2009 European Championships, over June and July and will mark the FIH's first return to the nation following this year's Hockey World Cup in The Hague.
