Kathryn Fudge_handball_17-10-11October 17 - Great Britain's women's handball team will head to Montenegro in the first of their Euro 2012 qualification matches as they take on the Southeastern European country this week.

Following their victory against Finland in the pre-qualifiers, Britain were drawn in a four-team pool alongside Poland, Montenegro and Russia, with both home and away matches against all three sides starting on Wednesday and concluding next June.

However, Wednesday's contest in Herceg Novi looks set to be a challenge and Britain will need to be on top of their game is they are to defeat the side who reached the finals of the 2011 World Championships with two victories over the Czech Republic earlier this year.

And following their midweek match, the British team will head home to their base at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre to prepare for the even tougher task of playing host to reigning world champions Russia on Saturday (October 22).

The Women's European Handball Federation (EHF) Euro 2012 competition takes places in the Netherlands on December 2 until 16 this year.
