SPIETH Gymnastics will provide the majority of the apparatus and mats for Rio 2016 ©FIGThe International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) has announced long-time partners SPIETH Gymnastics, Eurotramp and Gymnova as official equipment suppliers for Rio 2016.

A consortium known as "SEG" has been formed between the three companies, representing the artistic, rhythmic and trampoline Olympic disciplines. 

German company SPIETH will provide the majority of the apparatus and mats, while 2012 Olympic supplier Gymnova will furnish floor mats for both artistic and rhythmic gymnastics, as well as the women's uneven bars.

Eurotramp will provide trampolines and landing mats for trampoline gymnastics.

In a joint-statement from SPIETH, sales manager Jürgen Garziella and managing director Henning Hauser said: "Our acceptance to the Games 2016 means to us the crowning of our brand SPIETH and provides us a perfect platform to reach our target groups nationally and internationally with SPIETH products on the highest quality level."

Equipment used in FIG competitions is certified during an extensive testing process, which takes place in centres in the Japanese capital of Tokyo and the Breisgau region of Germany.
