The FIG's World of Gymnastics magazine has gone digital ©FIGThe International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) has today launched a digital version of its World of Gymnastics magazine that can be accessed on any device.

The online publication, which will be produced three times a year in English and French, contains videos, galleries and interviews that can be shared on social media, while the print version has also undergone a redesign.

The latest edition opens with messages from International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach and FIG leader Bruno Grandi, and features previews for the Nanjing 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games and this year's World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in the Turkish city of İzmir.

It also includes interviews with Finland's Jani Tanskanen, President of the FIG Athletes' Commission, and with legendary Ukrainian choreographer Albina Deriugina.

The move follows on from the release of an upgraded website, www.fig-gymnastics.com, for the sport's world governing body earlier this year.

"We are delighted to launch our new digital magazine and excited about the new horizon that it opens up," André Gueisbuhler, the FIG secretary general, said.

"Communication is very important for all sports federations and we at FIG are determined to ensure the widest reach for our sport through digital media."

Phil Savage, director of SportBusiness Communications, the firm behind the magazine's new design, added that the digital publication can be read on mobile phones, tablets and PCs.

The World of Gymnastics digital edition can be accessed at the FIG website or directly here.
