The name garnered 51,781 votes on a poll on UEFA.com and social media to top Driblou, which received 26,678 votes, and Goalix, which had 29,331.

The total 107,790 votes is a record for a UEFA mascot naming poll and more than ten times the amount that helped name the Euro 2012 mascots.

The Super Victor name for the mascot, which was unveiled to the public on November 18 at the Stade Vélodrome in Marseille, is based on the idea of victory and references the boy's super powers that he gained when he found the magic cape, boots and ball that he is pictured with.

Just under 24,000 in France have taken part in the competition to win a visit from the mascot for their football club, with the winner set to be announced by December 14.

Euro 2016 is due to take place over a full month from June 10 to July 10 and will comprise 51 matches staged in 10 different cities across France.
