He will take over from incumbent Jose Maria Marin next year.

Del Nero, the current vice-president of the CBF and a member of the FIFA Executive Committee, has promised "administrative continuity" under his four-year tenure.

"In all these years, as a sports director, I learned from many companions, as has happened with President Marin," Del Nero said.

"The intelligent man is one who seeks to learn more and more.

"The President and his administration, of which I am a part, achieved important advances, such as bringing football to the whole country.

"But of course, there are aspects that need to be improved and for which we will seek and accept suggestions throughout the sporting world."

Del Nero is President of Brazilian club Figueirense and a member of the South American Football Confederation Executive Committee.

The outgoing Marin, who has held the position since 2012, is also President of Brazil's World Cup Organising Committee.

Marin has been at the centre of a number of corruption probes, but has always denied all the allegations

He assumed the Presidency of the CBF and the Organising Committee after Ricardo Teixeira stepped down.
