The footballs donated by the non-profit youth commission will be used at primary and secondary schools in the Thua Thien Hue province that do not yet have FFAV clubs.

It is hoped that the donation to the Thua Thien Hue province will lead to more football activities and the establishment of FFAV clubs in the area in the near future.

AFDP founder and chairman Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein, a FIFA vice-president, hailed the project.

"Football For All in Vietnam is a great example for how football can be used to create a supportive environment with equal opportunities for young boys and girls," said Prince Ali, President of both the West Asian Football Federation (WAFF) and the Jordan Football Association.

"I hope to visit Vietnam in the near future to personally witness our young football players in action and the hard-working team of FFAV."

FFAV director Anders Krystad has welcomed the initiative.

"I am delighted with the gift from AFDP because the balls will enable thousands of children to play football," said Krystad.

"But I also see the added value for the project when we officially are supported by AFDP.

"I choose to see this as a quality mark for FFAV and recognition of the work we do here in Vietnam.

"Hopefully FFAV and AFDP can continue to work together for the development of football in Asia."
