Following two days of intensive competition, the men's sabre final saw a battle between Nicolas Limbach of Germany and Nicolas Rousset of France.

Limbach, who clinched individual gold at the 2009 World Fencing Championships in Antalya, Turkey, booked his place in the final with a victory over the United States' Daryl Homer, while Rousset saw off the challenge of Russia's Kamil Ibragimov.

Despite a closely contested final Limbach prevailed 15-9, while Homer and Ibragimov's efforts saw them leave the South Korean capital with bronze medals.

Reigning women's world champion Olha Kharlan secured gold for Ukraine, beating Hungary's Anna Márton 15-5 in the quarter-final before seeing off the challenge of Russia's Sofiya Velikaya 15-11 in the semi-final.

Olympic medallist Kharlan then defeated the United States' Ibtihaj Muhammad 15-9 in the final to seal the Grand Prix title.

Muhammad secured silver after an impressive run to the final, which saw her claim victories over Tunisia's Azza Besbes 15-11 in the quarter-final and fellow American Mariel Zagunis 15-14 in the semi-final.

Zagunis and Velikaya completed the podium after receiving bronze medals for their weekend's work in Seoul.
