The FEI Bureau, currently meeting in Baku, announced that the United Arab Emirates city will host the discipline's flagship event in the December, with the exact date yet to confirmed.

It also named Sithonia in Greece as the host of next year's Balkan Jumping Championship for Seniors, Young Riders, Juniors and Children, which is scheduled to take place on September 3 until 6 and the Turkish city of Istanbul as the stage for the Balkan Dressage Championship for Seniors, Young Riders, Juniors and Children due to take place July 29 to August 2, with Ruse in Bulgaria hosting next year's Balkan Endurance Championship on October 2 until4.

Meanwhile, the European Dressage Championship for Young Riders, Juniors and Children is due to take place in Madrid, Spain on July 6 until 10, 2016, the World Jumping Challenge Final heads to Zhitnica, Bulgaria, on July 2 until 6 next year and the World Cup Vaulting Final will be staged in the Austrian city of Graz on February 19 to 22 also next year.

Elsewhere at the Bureau meeting, the FEI heard details of the approved International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach's Olympic Agenda 2020, as well as an update on the continental and regional multisport games organising equestrian events through to 2018.

The body also revealed the main topic of discussion at the FEI Sports Forum 2015, which is scheduled for April 26 and 27 at the International Institute for Management Development business school in Lausanne, Switzerland, will be the review of the competition formats for the Olympics and World Equestrian Games, with the agenda to be developed further by the new FEI President, set to be elected on Sunday (December 14).

A number of FEI Technical Committees officials were also appointed today, including Ireland's Antonia Lehane, who will replace outgoing German Manfred Giensch on the Medical Committee, Great Britain's Patricia Clifton who replaces compatriot Alec Lochore on the Eventing Committee and Germany's Marco Orsini who replaces Belgian Anne D'Ieteren on the Para Equestrian Committee.

The FEI said the host nation for the 2015 General Assembly will be announced in the New Year.
