It played host to the action-packed competition last year, and will do so again from June 13 to 14.

The Championships will run in parallel with the sixth round of the Mountain Bike World Cup, due to take place on June 14 and 15.

Last year was the first time the 4X World Championships were held separately to the World Championships for the other mountain bike disciplines.

Four-cross sees a quartet of bikers race downhill on a prepared track, with the first person to cross the finish line winning.

"Over the years, Leogang has become an extremely popular mountain bike destination, especially for the gravity specialists," said UCI President Brian Cookson.

"The resounding success of last year's 4X World Championships leaves us in no doubt that the 2014 edition will be equally spectacular.

"Once again, the World Championships will be held at the same time as a round of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup for the downhill discipline, which will add to the excitement."

Kornel Grundner will oversee the organisation of the event together with Leogang Event, the organising body for Leogang-Saalfelden.
