149707202March 31 - Dates have been announced for this season's elite track cycling Revolution Series - which have been included on the UCI (International Cycling Union) track calendar for the first time - with the final stage preliminarily scheduled to be held in Lee Valley VeloPark at the Olympic Velodrome in London early next year.

The 11th Revolution Series will get underway at the National Cycling Centre in Manchester, where the series was originally exclusively held, on October 26 this year, with the second stage to be held at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome in Glasgow's Emirates Arena, which held last season's final, on November 30.

Round three will see the action return to Manchester on January 4 2014, before the Series reaches a climax at the Lee Valley VeloPark in London on January 25, pending confirmation.

For the first time, UCI ranking points will be on offer for performances at the Revolution Series, which can help riders qualify for the World Championships and the Olympic Games at Rio de Janeiro in 2016.

The Revolution Series has been a massive success since its inception in 2003, with last season's events selling out months in advance as cycling fans scrambled for tickets to see some of the world's top track cyclists in action.

Revolution organisers FACE Partnership's Managing Director James Pope said: "Changes to UCI structure mean we can achieve Class 1 ranking next season without having to compromise the Revolution format.

"UCI points being on offer will add an extra dimension and enhance the calibre of the riders.

"We're really excited our events will contribute to the Worlds, and ultimately the Olympics, qualification process."
